As a qualified language teacher with experience as a university lecturer, private tutor, and translator, I bring valuable insight into different learning styles. With specialised training in creative online teaching, I design lessons that are both engaging and effective. For over 10 years, I’ve taught students at all levels in Edinburgh and online—whether one-on-one, in pairs, or in both small and large groups.

If you’d like to start learning or improving your German in a small group with colleagues, family members, or friends, please get in touch to discuss your requirements and goals—prices start at £40 per group/hr (based on 2 people).

About me

Hello! I’m Sabine, a native German speaker with a passion for languages and teaching. I hold a Master’s Degree in Translation from the University of Heidelberg and teaching qualifications from the Goethe Institute, so I can guide you confidently on your journey to learning German. Prior to starting my own business, I worked in the Languages and Translation Department at Heriot-Watt University, supporting students pursuing careers in German Translation and Interpreting.

I enjoy working with learners of all ages, including exam-focused pupils, university students, adults with personal or professional ties to Germany, and travellers eager to keep their minds active while discovering a new culture.

I speak English, Spanish, and Italian -- so have a lot of first hand experience learning languages myself.
